कृष्णौ चापि महेष्वासावभिवाद्य हलायुधम् सस्वजाते परिप्रीतौ प्रियमाणौ यशस्विनौ

M. N. Dutt: Those great bowmen, viz., viz., the illustrious Krishnas, filled with joy, cheerfully saluted the hero who had the plough for his weapon and embraced him.

माद्रीपुत्रौ तथा शूरौ द्रौपद्याः पञ्च चात्मजाः अभिवाद्य स्थिता राजन्रौहिणेयं महाबलम्

M. N. Dutt: Similarly the two sons of Madri and the five sons of Draupadi saluted Rohini's powerful son and stood at a respectful distance.

भीमसेनोऽथ बलवान्पुत्रस्तव जनाधिप तथैव चोद्यतगदौ पूजयामासतुर्बलम्

M. N. Dutt: Bhimasena of great strength and your son, O monarch, both with uplifted maces in their arms, adored Baladeva.

M. N. Dutt: The other kings honored him by welcoming him and then all of them said to Rama "Witness this encounter, O you of mighty arms.”—Even thus those mighty car-warriors said to the high-souled son of Rohini.

परिष्वज्य तदा रामः पाण्डवान्सृञ्जयानपि अपृच्छत्कुशलं सर्वान्पाण्डवांश्चामितौजसः तथैव ते समासाद्य पप्रच्छुस्तमनामयम्

M. N. Dutt: The highly energetic Rama, having embraced the Pandavas and the Srinjayas, enquired after the welfare of all the other kings. Likewise all of them, approaching him, enquired after his welfare.

प्रत्यभ्यर्च्य हली सर्वान्क्षत्रियांश्च महामनाः कृत्वा कुशलसंयुक्तां संविदं च यथावयः

AI Translation: Having honored all the Kshatriyas and the great-minded Halas, Having made the agreement connected with welfare according to age,

जनार्दनं सात्यकिं च प्रेम्णा स परिषस्वजे मूर्ध्नि चैतावुपाघ्राय कुशलं पर्यपृच्छत

AI Translation: He affectionately embraced Janardana and Satyaki, and having smelled their heads, asked about their welfare.

तौ चैनं विधिवद्राजन्पूजयामासतुर्गुरुम् ब्रह्माणमिव देवेशमिन्द्रोपेन्द्रौ मुदा युतौ

M. N. Dutt: Those two in return, O king, duly adored him, their superior, with great pleasure, like Indra and Upendra adoring Brahma the king of the celestials.

ततोऽब्रवीद्धर्मसुतो रौहिणेयमरिंदमम् इदं भ्रात्रोर्महायुद्धं पश्य रामेति भारत

M. N. Dutt: Then Dharma's son, O Bharata, said to that chastiser of foes, viz., the son of Rohini "Witness, O Rama, this dreadful encounter between the two brothers."

तेषां मध्ये महाबाहुः श्रीमान्केशवपूर्वजः न्यविशत्परमप्रीतः पूज्यमानो महारथैः

M. N. Dutt: Thus adored by those great car-warriors, the mighty-armed elder brother of Keshava, of great beauty, took his seat amongst them.

स बभौ राजमध्यस्थो नीलवासाः सितप्रभः दिवीव नक्षत्रगणैः परिकीर्णो निशाकरः

M. N. Dutt: Clad in blue robes and possessed of a fair complexion, Rama, as he sat midst those kings shone like the Moon in the sky encircled by a number of stars.

ततस्तयोः संनिपातस्तुमुलो रोमहर्षणः आसीदन्तकरो राजन्वैरस्य तव पुत्रयोः

M. N. Dutt: Then that dreadful and hair-standing encounter took place between those two sons of yours O king, for terminating the long standing feud.
